Haverfordwest County are pleased to confirm that Academy product, Iori Humphreys, has agreed a new one-year deal with the club.
The 19-year-old, who recently completed his final season in the academy, has been a regular fixture in the First Team squad over the last two seasons.
Humphreys, who captained the Development team in the same period, made a total of 17 appearances in all competitions in 2022-23.
His First Team debut came back in September 2021, when he played 41 minutes in the 5-0 win over Undy Athletic in the third round of the Nathaniel MG Cup.
Since then, the centre-back has played 27 times for the Bluebirds, proving to be a dependable and reliable figure for manager Tony Pennock and his coaching staff.
He netted his maiden goal for the First Team against Pen-y-Bont back in August, and was part of the side which created history by qualifying for Europe for the first time in 19 years.
The defender made a six-minute cameo in the dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over Cardiff Metropolitan in the play-off semi-finals, with the picture of him embracing goalkeeper Zac Jones after his heroics sure to stay with Town supporters for many years.
Speaking about Iori on the most recent episode of The Bluebirds Nest, manager Tony Pennock said: “Iori has been fantastic this season. He’s started a few games and has come on several times, and he’s just grown as the year has gone on.
“We’re hoping that Iori is going to be with the club for a long time, because he’s another youngster that really fits into the way I want to work and the way the club want to move forward. We need plenty more Iori Humphreys’ in the squad.”
