Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder, Kai Whitmore.
The 22-year-old joins the Bluebirds on a one-year deal, having most recently played for fellow JD Cymru Premier side and European qualifiers, Penybont.
He linked up with the Bridgend outfit in January 2022 after leaving Ammanford, where he had been a regular in the JD Cymru South before earning a move to the top-flight.
A tenacious midfielder, Whitmore featured in all 32 league games in the 2022-23 season, helping the side to secure a top three finish which booked their place in this summer’s UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers, along with the Bluebirds.
He played the entirety of the 2021-22 JD Welsh Cup final against The New Saints at Cardiff City Stadium, which saw Bont narrowly edged out 3-2.
His final game for Penybont was the 2-1 victory over Newtown, which secured their third-place finish, which proved to be enough for European football after The New Saints’ JD Welsh Cup final win over Bala Town.
Whitmore links up with the squad ahead of this summer’s UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers, where he will get his first taste of European football.
Commenting on Kai’s arrival, manager Tony Pennock said: “Signing Kai is a big coup for us as a club. He has really good experience in Welsh football, and is a quality player with lots of energy who will certainly add to our attacking play.”
We are delighted to have Kai on board, and look forward to welcoming him to the Ogi Bridge Meadow for next season!
