Following yesterday’s JD Welsh Cup final, the make up of the JD Cymru Premier European play-offs have been confirmed.
In a one-sided final at Nantporth Stadium in Bangor, The New Saints ran out 6-0 winners against Bala Town to complete a league and cup double, having secured the JD Cymru Premier title in comfortable fashion.
This result means that the league’s third European spot is awarded to Pen-y-Bont, who finished third in the regular season, with Bala joining Cardiff Metropolitan, Newtown and Haverfordwest County in the play-offs.
The Bluebirds, who finished seventh, will travel to Cardiff Metropolitan this Saturday (May 6), for what will be their first-ever European play-off match. The game at Cyncoed Campus will kick off at 5.15pm, and will be shown live on S4C.
The winner of the match in the capital will take on either Bala or Newtown, who do battle at Maes Tegid on Friday, with the winner booking their place in the qualifying rounds for next season’s UEFA Europa Conference League.
