Haverfordwest County will be looking for a positive end to Phase One of the JD Cymru Premier season when they welcome Connah’s Quay Nomads to the Ogi Bridge Meadow tomorrow.

The Bluebirds have not been in action for just over three weeks, with the JD Welsh Cup and Nathaniel MG Cup breaks coming either side of this game being postponed because of a frozen pitch on January 21. Our most recent outing, away at The New Saints on January 7, saw us go down 3-1 to the reigning champions.

Prior to the weekend, the Nomads had been on an incredible run of form which had seen them go on a 21-game unbeaten run in all competitions, dating back to September 16 when they lost 2-1 to Aberystwyth Town. However, Neil Gibson’s side were beaten on penalties by Bala Town in the Nathaniel MG Cup final at The Rock two days ago, brining an end to their impressive streak.

As a result of their excellent form, the north Walians will be competing in the Championship Conference in Phase Two, as they currently sit second, 13 points behind runaway leaders The New Saints.

Tony Pennock’s men currently occupy eighth place on 24 points, but, depending on results tomorrow, could head into the second phase sitting either seventh, eighth or ninth.
