Hopkins, who will start with the club on August 18, arrives in west Wales to take over the role from Gary Richards, having spent three-and-a-half years with Chelsea FC where he was Head Coach at their International Development Centre in Singapore, a role which saw him plan and deliver sessions to players aged eight to 18 in Asia.
Prior to this, Hopkins worked for various football clubs including Cheltenham Town, where he was the Professional Development Lead Phase Coach and under-18s manager, Bristol Rovers, where he was Head of Education, and also Swansea City, where he was a Professional Academy Coach.
During his playing career, Hopkins represented the likes of Swansea City, Crystal Palace, Plymouth Argyle, Hereford, Aberystwyth Town and Briton Ferry before hanging up his boots in 2006.
A holder of the UEFA A Licence, Hopkins has also worked for Bristol City, Southampton and latterly the Football Association of Wales (FAW) Trust.
