Haverfordwest County manager Nicky Hayen has been named the JD Cymru Premier Manager of the Month for March.
The Belgian oversaw an impressive month for the Bluebirds, which helped to move us clear of the relegation zone with some impressive performances and results.
In what was his first full month in charge at the Ogi Bridge Meadow, the month started in perfect fashion with a 1-0 win over Barry Town United at Jenner Park, with Alhagi Touray Sisay’s goal one minute into the second-half enough to give County all three points.
The Bluebirds backed this result up in emphatic fashion a week later when they ran out 6-1 winners over Cefn Druids at the Meadow. Striker Ben Fawcett netted a brace, and was joined on the scoresheet by Jordan Davies, Jack Wilson, Touray Sisay and Danny Williams.
The goals continued to flow as we travelled to Park Avenue to take on Aberystwyth Town three days later, and turned in a fantastic display to record a 6-0 win over the Seasiders to make it three wins on the bounce.
We then faced a tough challenge to end the month in the form of last season’s champions, Connah’s Quay Nomads, however a resolute display in front of the Sgorio cameras saw County take a deserved point to ensure we went the entire month unbeaten.
Llongyfarchiadau, Nicky!
