Haverfordwest County will be looking to avenge last week’s defeat to Aberystwyth Town when they welcome the Seasiders to the Ogi Bridge Meadow on Friday evening for a crucial JD Cymru Premier match-up.

After two creditable performances against high-flying Newtown and Pen-y-Bont, the Bluebirds were brought back down to earth with a 2-0 loss at Park Avenue last time out, with Sam Phillips and Mathew Jones securing victory for the Black and Greens.

That result moved Aber five points clear of County, as the end of Phase One approaches and teams continue to battle away at the bottom of the table.

The last time the sides met at the Ogi Bridge Meadow was in April 2021, when the Bluebirds ran out 1-0 winners thanks to Ben Fawcett’s second-half strike.

County have proved difficult to beat at home this season, with their record at the Meadow good enough to place them sixth in the home standings, with three wins, five draws and only two defeats.

A victory for the Bluebirds could see them move within one point of 10th placed Barry Town United, who are also in action on Friday evening when they host Pen-y-Bont at Jenner Park.

Key man: Sam Phillips – The winger is one of the Black and Greens’ in-form players at the moment, netting four goals in his last five outings for the club, including one against County last time out. He scored twice in the recent victory over Cefn Druids, and has been a regular fixture in the team, playing in all but one of their 20 matches in the Cymru Premier to date. His goal tally is enough to place him joint-eighth on the list of top scorers, and is certainly someone the Bluebirds will need to keep tabs on throughout the game.

Pure West Radio will again be in attendance to provide matchday entertainment at the ground, with Tom Dyer and DowsyDJ playing music before the game and at half-time to create a fantastic atmosphere.

For the second game in succession, ticket prices have been reduced, with adults able to enter for just £5, with concessions £3 and under-16s free.

You can purchase tickets on the night, but also from our online club shop.
