Haverfordwest County will look to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Flint Town United when they host Bala Town at the Ogi Bridge Meadow this Saturday (December 11).
The Bluebirds slipped to a 4-1 loss at the Essity Stadium, despite Danny Williams pulling a goal back early in the second-half.
The club announced a day later that it had accepted the resignation of manager Wayne Jones, bringing an end to his second spell in charge of County.
Coach Sean Pemberton and full-back Jazz Richards will take interim charge of the side for tomorrow’s game, as the club works to appoint a permanent successor.
After making a strong start to the season, the Lakesiders have found it hard going of late, losing three of their last five matches in the JD Cymru Premier.
In their previous outing, they were defeated 4-1 by leaders The New Saints at Maes Tegid, with Chris Sang scoring a late consolation goal for Colin Caton’s side.
The Bluebirds suffered a heavy defeat when the sides last met back in September, with Bala running out 6-2 winners in an impressive display.
The teams met twice in the 2020/21 season, with County going undefeated after recording a dramatic 2-1 win at Maes Tegid, before the spoils were shared 1-1 at the Ogi Bridge Meadow four weeks later.
After last week’s defeat saw Haverfordwest County slip into the bottom two, they will keen to move out of the drop zone as soon as possible.
A draw will be enough to do so should Aberystwyth Town lose by five or more goals at home to Newtown on Friday evening, while a victory could see the Bluebirds climb as high as ninth ahead of the festive period.
