Haverfordwest County travel to the capital this weekend (October 9) to take on Cardiff Metropolitan University, looking to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to five matches.

The Bluebirds have been on a good run of form recently, advancing to the next stages of the JD Welsh Cup and Nathaniel MG Cup, as well as picking up four points from the encounters with high-flying Flint Town United and reigning champions Connah’s Quay Nomads.

They face an Archers side that has made a positive start to the season, winning three of their opening seven games, as they sit fifth in the standings, six points ahead of County.

After failing to win any of their first three games, Christian Edwards’ side are unbeaten in their last four outings, with their most recent victory being the 4-2 success against Cefn Druids last Saturday.

In the four meetings between the sides last season, the Bluebirds were victorious on one occasion, winning 1-0 at the Ogi Bridge Meadow in March, while the Students picked up two victories, and the first meeting – back in September 2020 – was a goalless draw.

When the sides met at the Ogi Bridge Meadow on Matchday Two, back in August, neither was able to find the net in a low-key 0-0 draw.

A victory for the Bluebirds could see them finish the day as high as ninth, while a draw may also be enough to lift them out of the drop zone.
