Goals from Tyrone Ofori and Kieran Mills-Evans, either side of a Ben Fawcett equalizer, gave the away side all 3 points at the Bridge Meadow.

Newtown were in front inside 3 minutes at the Bridge Meadow as Tyrone Ofori volleyed into the Bluebirds net from a corner. The Bluebirds looked dangerous from crosses into the box, and an Elliot Scotcher corner was met by Ben Fawcett at the front post to equalize for the home side.

Just minutes later, Jordan Evans almost restored the Robins lead as he headed over the bar from 6 yards out. Kieran Mills-Evans was the first to test Gajda as he chested goalwards from a Robins free-kick, but the Polish stopper pushed it wide. Ofori then headed towards goal, but Gajda tipped it wide. From the resulting corner, Shane Sutton snuck in to squeeze a header passed Gajda, and restore the visitors’ lead.

Just before the half hour mark, Dan Summerfield fizzed a half volley just over the bar from roughly 30 yards out. Alaric Jones then clipped an inch-perfect ball for Corey Shephard in the Robins box, but his free header was saved by Dave Jones in the Newtown goal.

The visitors had the first chance of the second half as Kieran Mills-Evans got himself free to head over the bar at the near post. A defensive mix up in the Robins defence almost left a tap in for Danny Williams, but Dave Jones recovered well to deny a goal. Later in the game, Dave Jones clawed the ball from off the line, as the Bluebirds thought Danny Williams had scored at the back post, but the linesman decided that the ball didn’t cross the line.

The Bluebirds had another golden chance at the far post, this time it was Summerfield who cross, which was met by Keetch, but it went just wide.

Despite a handful of late half chances, the Bluebirds couldn’t make a breakthrough and suffered defeat.

The Bluebirds now face Cefn Druids home on Saturday (15th) for a 2.30pm kick off in the final game of the season
