An Elliot Evans strike and a Cameron Keetch own goal were enough to give the visitors all three points at the Bridge Meadow.

In a first half of few chances, it was Cardiff Met’s Chris Baker who forced the first saved of the game as his low volley reach the safety of Wojciech Gajda’s gloves from the edge of the area. Elliot Evans was next to offer a glimpse of a goal, but his strike from the back post was also comfortable for the Polish-American stopper.

The best chance of the half came as Kieran Lewis picked up the ball on the left, flicked through for Keetch to chase, who then fired a low cross into the path of Fawcett whose close range attempt was blocked by Lang.

Just before the referee blew for half time, there was another half chance as the ball dropped for Tom Price in the box from a Met long throw, but Gajda was off his line quickly to smother the attempt.

It was Met who came out in the second half on the front foot as they intercepted the ball high up the pitch and crossed for Evans who volleyed narrowly wide. Cameron Keetch provided a test as he fired from just outside the box, forcing Lang into an expert save. From the resulting corner, Summerfield headed just over the bar.

However it was the visitors who took the lead as the Bluebirds were caught on the break from a corner, and the ball was squared to Elliot Evans who slotted under Gajda. Nine minutes later, the lead was doubled as Cameron Keetch headed into the Bluebirds net from a Met corner. In a game of few chances, this was enough to give the visitors all three points.
