Goals from Cambrian duo Corey Shephard and Cameron Keetch, either side of a Blaine Hudson equaliser saw the Bluebirds record a famous win in front of the Sgorio cameras.

TNS enjoyed the majority of possession in the opening spell but it was the Bluebirds who had the first chance of the game. Fawcett found space down the left, turned, passed the ball to Corey Shephard who unleashed a striker from the edge of the box that was saved onto the post by Harrington.

Just 5 minutes later, Shephard put the Bluebirds in front. It was good work down the left once again, a Summerfield cross was headed to the feet of Shephard, who struck the ball low and hard into the bottom corner. The Bluebirds were threatening again shortly after as Kieran Lewis launched a counter attack. His pass found Fawcett, who struck from the edge, but it was easily saved by Harrison.

Once again, the Bluebirds proved a threat on the counter, as Ricky Watts broke down the right, floated a deep cross for Williams, but his volley was just wide.

The Bluebirds then had to deal with sustained TNS pressure before the half time whistle. One Robles header was saved comfortably, and the next was expertly saved by Turner as it was dipping under the bar. Just after this save, the halftime whistle went and the Bluebirds went in ahead.

TNS came out fight at the start of the second half and equalised just 6 minutes in. Blaine Hudson towered over the Bluebirds defence and headed in a corner to put the away side level. Once again, TNS enjoyed the majority of possession but rarely troubled Matt Turner. With 20 minutes to go, Turner saved comfortably from a tame volley struck by Ebbe.

The Bluebirds proved a constant threat on the break and the introduction of roaming left-back Cameron Keetch proved the distance. In what was a great team move, Ben Fawcett held the ball up well, fed the ball to Shephard who found a first time pass to set away Danny Williams. Just as it looked certain that Williams was going to take a strike, a marauding Cameron Keetch enters the frame, overlaps Williams, who plays the perfect pass before Keetch slots home. The Bluebirds were in front again with 15 minutes to go.

TNS piled the pressure on for the remaining 15 minutes, but it was the Bluebirds defence who stood firm. With 5 minutes remaining, Ricky Watts pulled off an incredibly well-timed block in order to stop a certain TNS goal. From the resulting corner, it was Matt Turner’s time to play hero, as he expertly saved a header that was sailing into the corner.

There were 4 minutes of additional time, which included noteworthy crunching tackles from Alaric Jones, Jazz Richards and the final of which from Sean Pemberton, who’s impressive challenge was the last kick of the game.

The final whistle blew to euphoria in the home dugout and celebrations amongst the players.

The Bluebirds now travel to Connah’s Quay Nomads, on Saturday (20th) for a 2.30pm kick off
