A last minute winner from Lee Jenkins meant that the home side took all three point on a cold night at Park Avenue.

In what was a relatively quiet first half, Jamie Reed had the first chance of the game. Aber won the ball high up the pitch, and the ball was fed through to the experienced striker, but his effort was just wide of the post. Reed threatened again as he was played through one-on-one with Gajda, but the striker’s low effort was expertly saved by the Polish stopper. The Bluebirds fashioned their first real chance of the game from a corner, as the ball was hooked into the box, Trystan Jones headed just wide.

The second half saw Aber continue their dominance of the game, and Reed opened the scoring with a volley from the edge of the box. Shortly after the goal, new signing Jazz Richards made his Bluebirds debut from the bench.

On the 70th minute, the home side should have doubled their lead as Williams squared for Reed, who then blazed his shot from 5 yards out, over the bar with the net gaping. Alaric Jones was then called into action, as his last ditch tackle stopped Jamie Reed from doubling the Aber score.

That block proved important, as a few minutes later the Bluebirds were level. Corey Shephard swung a teasing ball into the box, which eventually fell for Ben Fawcett who scored his 5th goal of the season.

Despite the late equaliser, Aber took all three points with a last-gasp winner. A corner was swung in, and a header cleared off the line by Summerfield, but Lee Jenkins was there to head home and break Bluebird hearts.

The Bluebirds now face TNS on the Saturday (13th) for a 5.15pm kick off
