The Bluebirds face league leaders Connah’s Quay Nomads on Saturday (20th) for a 2.30pm kick off at the Deeside Stadium.

Last Time Out

It was a game to remember at the Bridge Meadow stadium last weekend as the Bluebirds triumphed over The New Saints. Following a disappointing defeat to Aberystwyth midweek, County came out fighting against 2nd-placed TNS, and the home side were ahead after just 18 minutes thanks to a Corey Shephard strike. The Bluebirds created plenty in the first half, and a counter-attack led by Watts almost led to a second as Danny Williams volleyed wide. TNS equalized in soon into the second half through a Blaine Hudson header, but Cameron Keetch stole the headlines as his left-footed strike secured all 3 points for the home side.

Connah’s Quay Nomads made the short trip to Bala midweek, where they secured all 3 points. It was a quick start at Maes Tegid as Bala took the lead within 45 seconds, but the Nomads hit back shortly after through George Horan. However, a penalty in the second half and a late Craig Curran goal was enough to ensure the Nomads headed for 12 games unbeaten.

The Reverse Fixture

The Nomads travelled to the Bridge Meadow back in September for what was their third game of the season. It was a tough battle for the Bluebirds that day as Curran gave the Nomads an early lead with a tap-in. However, the Bluebirds rallied, and captain Sean Pemberton equalised from a set-piece. The second half was tough for the home side as the Nomads asserted their dominance, Curran and Edwards scored within 2 minutes to settle the game before Declan Poole scored a fourth for the Nomads.

The last time the Bluebirds travelled to the Deeside Stadium was back in 2015, where goals from Les Davies and Ashley Ruane secured a 2-1 win for the Nomads.
