The Bluebirds fell to defeat in North Wales as 3 second half goals from the home side stopped any chances of a comeback.

The first shot of the game came from Alex Darlington who fired wide of Gajda’s goal in the 2nd minute from a Druids free-kick. The Bluebirds’ first attempt of the game came from an Elliot Scotcher free-kick, who sent his 35 yard strike just wide of the post. In an opening 25 minutes that had very few chances, Edge won the ball back outside the Bluebirds box, but fired his shot well-wide.

Haverfordwest fashioned the first real chance of the game as Kieran Lewis played a great ball over the top, which Mark Jones chased down but his shot was smothered by the goalkeeper. Jones then regained control and squared the ball for Marcus Griffiths who fired over.

Druids then took the lead as Arsan crossed from the left for Cody Ruberto to finish to put the home side ahead. Shortly after, Gajda kept the Bluebirds in the game as he got down to stop a Edge strike from point-blank range. Gajda was called upon again as Darlington fired a volley towards goal from the edge of the box, but it was straight at the Polish stopper.

The Druids had the best of the first time and headed in 1 goal to the good at the break.

Alex Darlington had the first chance of the second half as he raced through on goal, but as he was one-on-one with Gajda he dragged his shot wide. Druids then doubled their lead, Gajda made a smart stop from an Azimale header but the same man poked in the rebound. Azimale almost made it 3 to the home side but his strike from close range is well-saved by Gajda.

Marcus Griffiths chased down a ball over the top, but his shot was smothered well by the Druids keeper, denying the Bluebirds a route back into the game. Charley Edge was then found free at the back post to fire passed Wojciech Gajda to put the game beyond the Bluebirds.

On the 78th minute, Jack Wilson was set through and lobbed the Druids keeper to make it 3-1 and give the Bluebirds a lifeline. Druids went straight on the attack from the goal, Azimale hearing goalwards at the back post, but Gajda pulled off an unbelievable save to deny him a second goal.

It was not to be for the Bluebirds, as quick-thinking from the Druids after being aware a free-kick saw Flint through on goal and slot under Gajda.

The Bluebirds now face Barry Town United on Wednesday for a 7.45pm kick off
